Data Analytics Foundations with Python & SQL
Turn business questions into reliable analysis.
Move from spreadsheet questions to repeatable analysis. Query, clean, visualise, and explain a business dataset with SQL and Python.
A good fit for
Who’s this for?
Analysts, business specialists, operations teams, and spreadsheet users starting with code-based analysis.
Before we start
Spreadsheet familiarity and basic numerical confidence. Plan approximately two hours for the supplied setup and introductory preparation before live training.
The programme
Build the skill, step by step.
6 three-hour sessions over 2 weeks remotely. The day-by-day outline below shows what we cover.
Day 1Ask better questions and query data
Define useful metrics, understand tables, and practise SQL filtering, grouping, and joins using SQLite and a prepared business dataset.
Day 2Analyse with Python
Learn Jupyter and essential Python concepts. Use pandas to clean, combine, validate, and explore data. Use AI to explain queries and debug, then verify the results.
Day 3Explain the result
Create clear visualisations, recognise misleading comparisons, document assumptions, and complete a guided business-analysis project.
What you take away
- Reusable SQL queries
- Reproducible analysis notebook
- Data-quality checklist

Good questions
Before you book
Do I need to know Python or SQL?
No prior Python or SQL knowledge is required for this introductory course. You should be comfortable with spreadsheets and complete the approximately two-hour preparation.
Will we use AI during the course?
Yes, to help explain queries and debug notebooks. You will learn to check calculations and conclusions against the data rather than accept generated answers without verification.
What can we study next?
Applied Data Science & Machine Learning is a possible next step after practising Python and pandas and completing its readiness exercise.
What does the starting price include?
The standard remote package for up to 8 people, a one-hour preparation call, readiness checklist, exercise materials, reusable templates, and one 90-minute follow-up clinic within 30 days. All prices exclude VAT. Custom implementation, extensive adaptation, extra participants, and travel are quoted separately. Tool subscriptions, cloud usage, and developer accounts are paid separately.
Can we arrange on-site training?
Yes. On-site delivery uses full teaching days, with travel quoted separately. Remote delivery splits each teaching day into two three-hour sessions. All teaching is in English, with dates arranged by enquiry.
